neoPLUGS2: gk1
gk1 is a plugin that enables NeoBook Developers to capture specified parts of the user's screen directly to a bmp/jpg file.
With the plugin command NeoBook developers can specify any (rectangular) part of the screen ... including areas outside the publication's window ... to be captured ... and have the captured image saved to a bmp or jpg format file.
When choosing to save the image as a jpg file, developers can also specify the quality (1 to 100) of the saved image ... where smaller file sizes are achieved with increased compression ... at the expense of greater losses to compression ... resulting in lower quality images.
With the bmp file format, the images are stored without any compression ... resulting in lossless images.
With this plugin, NeoBook developers can ...
- easily create images of individual objects and/or entire publication pages ... for inclusion in Help files etc.
- provide a facility for users to capture the entire screen at the time of unexpected situations ... and have the image emailed to the developer for examination/analysis.
- create thumbnails of images.
- create images with infused text and borders ... for use in eGreeting applications.
- create a number of pieces of an image ... for use in Picture Puzzles etc.
- create images of random numbers and letters ... for use in CAPTCHA user authentication processes.
- and more ....
You can download the gk1 package frome here ... it contains the plugin files as well as NeoBook publications that test and demonstrate the deployment of the plugin ... a Help document is also included.
gk1 is offered as a Shareware product ... when deploying Unregistered copies in NeoBook's Design Mode, a text watermark will be stamped on the saved images. As well, Unregistered copies will not work within compiled applications.
